News Fatigue? This looks like a job for SALSA KIDS! #salsakids #thesalsacure

Oh, dear. I know, I'm experiencing it, too.

News Fatigue.
Me after watching cable news.
It's gotten pretty ugly out there, hasn't it? I don't care how positive a person you are, enough exposure to this stuff can get you so riled up, bummed out and let down that it can start to seem like there's nothing any of us can do to make this world a better place.

I feel you.

These are the times when I need to be reminded that one light heart outshines a thousand dark ones. When I need to see, really see, that it's infinitely more powerful to inspire someone's joy than it is to light a fire under their anger.

THIS LOOKS LIKE A JOB FOR....SALSA KIDS!

That's right. I'm pulling out the big guns here, people. Just try and keep a straight face and a still booty while these children blow you away with the unbridled, fantastic tripping of the light that is...
SALSA KIDS!

Behold!
Feast your eyes..and your SOUL!
The cuteness! The footwork! THE FIRE!
Come on! What are you, made of stone?!
SALSA KIDS! Bringing people together all over the world.
SALSA KIDS! There's no one they can't help.

Don't believe me? Oh, ye of little faith. Don't you see?

SALSA KIDS aren't just here to help you and me.

SALSA KIDS even help...SALSA GROWNUPS!

Feel free to replay as often as necessary. You feel better now, right?
Me after SALSA KIDS!
I'm pretty sure that when the Divine Gloria Estefan said, "The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" she was talking about SALSA KIDS!

SALSA KIDS! Here to recharge our batteries so we can all live to fight News Fatigue another day.

Thanks, SALSA KIDS!

Quick! Make me laugh!

Hello, lovelies.
No one is funnier than F&S. No. One. (source:Youtube)
I don't know what it is, but I seem to be having one of those weeks. I'm fine, my family is fine, but so many people I know are so not fine. This week it seems like everyone I encounter is going through tough times. Of course I feel very honored to be there for them but last night I just needed to laugh. At something. Anything.

What would we ever do without Youtube?

I have several tried and true clips that always (really always) make me laugh. Plus I found a few more. It made it much easier to head out the door this morning, believe me.

So just in case you're having one of those weeks, or everyone around you is, here's some videos that helped me out last night. I've shared some of them before, but they bear re-posting.

1. Because this pretty much sums up how I feel about most "home improvement" shows:

2. Because I love buying things off the TV:

3. Because I sometimes forget that happiness is a choice:

4. Because, when all else fails, I know I can always break the Rupaul's Drag Race glass (warning: NSFW):

Do you have a go-to "laugh list" on Youtube? Please share!

But the godchildren, tho. #VIDEO

So here's the thing, I've said it before but it bears repeating:

I have the most beautiful and talented godchildren on the planet. If you have godchildren of your own, I pity you. You will never know the joy of being godmother to perfect children. Sorry 'bout it.

Okay, I say children, but two out of three of them are now old enough to vote.

If you're new to this blog, you might have missed the hautingly entertaining "Little Red Riding Hood" video made by Halisia, my oldest godchild.

Now her sister has burst on to the Youtube scene with this gem-This is my goddaughter Mielle playing ALL the parts of this brass quintet. Last year she played in a little affair called the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Perhaps you've heard of it?

Boo-ya. You're welcome, internet.
